Quick review: ways of working and team success

Many teams now use a hybrid plan: two days at home, three days in the office. The flexibility helps people with the morning commute, parking, and family time. Some people prefer a fully virtual day for deep work, and others enjoy the hallway chat with the team. When a team member is out of office or on vacation, the plan still works because the dashboard is shared.

This quarter we had a successful project. The manager is going to approve a small bonus for the team to celebrate the achievement. Two engineers were absent on the launch day because they were sick, but everyone helped on the next day. We did not need anything extra — just clear roles and a cold pizza for lunch.

The cafeteria offered a simple lunch menu this week, and the meeting room was busy from morning to evening.

Which word means a great result that you are proud of?

Which word means not at work today?

I cannot find a free spot in the company   today, so I take the metro.

The hybrid plan gives the team more   for family time and the morning commute.

When the office is too cold, I bring a small jacket from home.

The manager is going to   the new budget at the next leadership meeting.

Final review: planning words

Every project has a clear vision and a main objective. The team meets across the days of the week to track each milestone. Some tasks need attention immediately; others can wait. The smallest steps eventually add up — and finally, the team finishes the work. After the launch, the team is going to plan the next phase of the vision.

Match each planning word to its meaning.

Our vision for the year is global growth. The main   this quarter is to finish the dashboard and reach the next milestone.

After many small steps, the team   reached the project milestone — and eventually they are going to reach the bigger goal too.

The team has an urgent objective. We need to start the work  .

We started slowly, but   we agreed on the new vision for the team.
